deal or NO deal

as per lily's post re deal breakers.

1. double standards - yay for me nay for you
ex - "it's okay if i am late, but i will bitch you out if you are late, but if i am late then deal with it bitch." no. not okay. you don't get both benefits.
ex #2 - "ew she is wearing a fake LV" when you are also wearing a fake LV.
exception - double standards re girls/boys is okay; girls suffer enough from living in a male-centric society, that double standards are allowed in a girl's favor.

2. fake ballerisms.
ex - girls who ride on their loaded bf's coattails.
ex#2 - boys who talk cash money money, girl come sit at our table, but then disappear when the bill shows up.

3. picky eaters.
ex - ew i will never try ____ bc it's slimy/raw/ethnic/smelly.
ex #2 - i dont eat sushi.

4. closed mindedness.
ex - all people of "x" variety are "y" such that, x can = use drugs, religious, partier, nerd, korean, chinese, etc, etc ; y: insert stereotypical blanket statement here.
just because you don't understand a person doesn't mean you can characterize him or her; all it means is that you should work on understanding more kinds of people.

5. "i'm smart" stupidity.
i must qualify this statement, because ever since coming to law school, my own stupidity has become so much very apparent and rather limitless. but i am very aware of it, and will never front like i'm smart "because i'm educated". ew. i truly believe that an undergrad/grad degree has no bearing on very apparent stupidity.

6. lack of conviction.
there is an amazing remix of talib kweli's good mourning by freddie joachim that i'm obsessed with. the chorus goes "good morning, good afternoon, good night, what have you done with your life?" i have crazy respect for everyone around me who is after some kind of progress in their life, whether it be through education, career, or a passion. i hate on myself all the time for not having a legit passion, but at least i know for certain i'm not content with the static state of life (even though school blows balls.). people in their 20s and 30s who lack conviction for move, change, progress, SOMETHING in their life really perplex me. you are only young once! do something! move somewhere new! push yourself!! i guess a pretty girl can always hope to marry someone who has these qualities instead of instilling them in themselves, but to me it reeks of lack of character. ugh, pretty girls get away with everything. unfair. but beauty is fleeting. so fair.


i have more up my sleeve, but i spent a long time thinking of these 6, and a long time on the interwebz lusting after things i don't need & can't afford.
